Starting this month Al-Khal restaurant at InterContinental Cairo Citystars is bringing its guests an unforgettable ancient Egyptian delicious experience, through its customized Pharaonic set menu. Guests can now enjoy a variety of ancient food that is cooked in a special traditional way that gives you an insight about ancient Egyptian cuisine.

Starting with a deliciously cooked duck salad, chargrilled grey mullet, and pigeon clear consommé followed by an oven-baked baby chicken wrapped in papyrus and salted crust served with chicken cereal in red pepper sauce as a main course and ending it right with delicate date tartlet dessert.

Although we don’t have many menus left from the ancient times that gives us a clear insights about that what ancient Egyptians cooked and ate, yet we still have information about the essentials dishes that they used to cook through their drawings.

Al-Khal staff was able to efficiently use these information and came up with a different approach to represent the Egyptian culture globally through their diverse guests.
