If you’re looking for a cozy, colorful street café a la Rome or Paris, this is the place for you. Nestled in a bustling side street in Degla, this spot is perfect for a quick caffeine fix and catch up with your friends. We visited this place aiming to be the best coffee place in Maadi on a lazy Saturday afternoon, and the brunch menu hit the spot.

Signature drinks: Flat White, Peanut Butter & Caramel Frappuccino

Dishes sampled and ingredients: Upon arrival, we ordered the fresh mango juice and a large American coffee to tide us over until the food arrived. The juice was a generous portion with enough to spare, freshly squeezed and tangy. The American coffee was big enough for two, using proper coffee beans ground on the premises – nothing too bitter or burnt as you are prone to receiving in many establishments. The Ultimate Breakfast was a feast for both the belly and the eyes! A large cheese omelet with two slices of thick brown toast and yummy sides – fresh chestnut mushrooms, two deliciously seasoned sausages, and the best sautéed onions we ever tasted. The chef revealed his secret ingredient – pomegranate syrup. My dining companion tried the Mozzarella Pesto Panini, a delicious toasted sandwich with homemade basil pesto and generous helpings of buffalo mozzarella cheese. The signature cappuccino is a must-have, a huge serving with perfectly foamed milk and a lovely hint of nutty flavor. The fruit smoothies menu is also extensive, we tried a fruit that is in season, the Pomegranate smoothie, bursting with tanginess and balanced with the right amount of sweet. The servers and baristas are very attentive and willing to alter any drink to your liking, which is very much appreciated for those of us who don’t like a lot of sugar.

Other menu options that appealed: Selection of sandwiches including Turkey & Cheese, Salami, Roast Beef, Oatmeal with Fruit & Nuts, and a large array of homemade pastries and desserts.

Beverage options: Extensive coffee options, fresh juices and smoothies, and soft drinks.

Décor: Bright and colorful wooden chairs and tables, including both indoor and outdoor seating.

Ambience: Laid-back and intimate, very low-key with great music on the sound system. This is the perfect place to catch up and have a conversation. Service is efficient without being intrusive, and you’ll want to come back.

Clientele mix: Young crowd, and locals from the neighborhood who become regulars.

Price range: Inexpensive without skimping on the quality! A bargain.
