Details: This new body of work draws from images of the landscape photographed by Eadweard Muybridge and his contemporaries. It examines how the medium of photography developed and began to translate the ‘seeing experience’ as it dealt with the inherent problems of motion and perspective shifts in still images. Among its considerations is whether perception can be more fully grasped by including duration and distance in the process of image making, and how stereoscopes and repeated imagery can approximate an act of looking.
