The illusions in Magic on Ice are custom designed and fabricated in Las Vegas by the same team that has created effects for the legendary magician David Copperfield, the Broadway production Spider Man: Turn Off the Dark, and Cirque Du Soleil. Every intricate piece involves CAD drawings, scale models and mock-ups and undergoes hours of testing to ensure it reaches perfection. Cutting-edge lighting technology involves intricate planning and computerized ‘real time’ programming in coordination with the show lighting design team in Genoa, Italy. Magic on Ice ILUSIO
The magical costumes are custom sewn in the Magic on Ice Las Vegas headquarters, with headdresses sculpted from foam and custom dyed fabric. Decorated with hundreds of Swarovski crystals, feathers, and numerous other embellishments, each hat is expertly crafted to be both dramatic and eye-catching while managing to withstand the demands of the performance. Adding to the richness of the show, each artist can have between 5 to 7 costume changes, each of which must be managed in less than one minute.
Master illusionist Steve Wheeler has established himself as the world’s premier ice skating illusionist and has entertained over 20 million people in more than 200 cities around the world. He has garnered acclaim from Asia and the Middle East to Europe and North America, gracing the stage in some of the world’s most famous theaters and venues.
He started his journey to fame at the tender age of 14 when he received top honors from the International Magician’s Society. He went on to study at theater arts at the Tony Award-winning Old Globe Theatre, before starting to tour internationally with his unique ice illusions at the age of 19.
