The Spooky season has begun, and what better way to get into the Halloween spirit than to watch a scary movie? Here is a list of the top Halloween movies to watch on Netflix.

There is a movie for everyone because you do not have to frighten yourself to get in the spirit, you can just catch up on a funny family monster movie or a monster animated movie. Choose your Halloween pick!

Hubie Halloween

The newest Adam Sandler movie is a spine-tingling comedy set on Halloween and is full of references to his 1990’s –early 2000’s comedy movies. It’s a good watch for movie night with friends and family.

Eerie

A chilling horror Filipino movie that takes place in an all-girls catholic school that involves suicide, a ghost and an abusive past to uncover. It might not seem that bad but believe us it’s unexpectedly frightening.

Hereditary

Omnious, scary and unique, Hereditary raised the bar for horror movies as it follows the Graham family trying to outrun the sinister fate they have inherited. A must-watch.

The Babysitter

The popular horror dark comedy is about a boy who discovers his hot babysitter’s secret life. The babysitter is part of a satanic cult that will stop at nothing to keep the little boy quiet.

Halloween

A masked killer who went on a Halloween night murder spree 40 years ago escapes incarceration, targeting the victim who got away — and her family.

What We Do in the Shadows

An Australian movie about Vampire roommates struggling to adapt to modern society. It’s a dark comedy with a coat of horror, enough to keep you on edge but still going to make you laugh by how absurd and comedic it gets.

Hotel Transylvania

Here we see count Dracula as an overprotective father to his teenage daughter when an unwelcomed guest shows up at Hotel Transylvania. It is one of the best cartoons made in the mid 2000’s, if you are looking for a funny monster movie watch this one.

Curse of Chucky

The famous doll that gives everyone the creeps, Chucky, is at this point a classic scary movie. The story of an evil talking doll is guaranteed to give you the creeps.

Ghostbusters

Who you gonna call? Ghostbusters! This 1984 film will always be a favorite as the parapsychologists chase ghouls and ghosts around.

All Hallow’s Eve

This family Sci-Fi movie is about a teenage girl who accidentally awakens an evil witch from the dead who wants to destroy her town and now the girl has to fix it. Watch this if you want to slow down on freighting yourself into a coma.

Based on a book of the same name, the Shining is a classic psychological horror movie starring Jack Nicholson who loses his sanity at an isolated hotel. It’s a mad ride in a deserted hotel and such a horrifying treat to watch.

We will not spoil anything, but we suggest you start by watching the first Friday the 13th movie about Jason Voorhees who drowned at Camp and decades later the lake turned into the scene of numerous mass murders. Follow the journey of the slash murders until the last movie which is part 12. And no it is not an action movie, it is purely horror.

The Conjuring

Things turn very dark for paranormal investigators searching the isolated farmhouse in the Conjuring, the spirits were not happy and they did not shy away from showing it. Be ready to flip out of fear watching this one.
