VictoryLink Organizes Initiative to Support Egypt’s Contemporary Women

Under the patronage of the Ministry of Social Solidarity, “VictoryLink” organized the signing ceremony for the first book of the “Wahda Gedida” initiative entitled “Wahda Gedida – El Forsa Lesa Mwgoda”.

This book is the first of its kind in Egypt that combines the success stories of contemporary Egyptian women in addition to a number of inspiring women. An audio copy of the book will be available on Iqraaly application to share the stories with a wider audience.

This comes within the framework of the company’s efforts to support and empower Egyptian women in all economic and social fields in line with the country’s vision of sustainable development 2030.

The ceremony included opening speeches by Ms. Amina Tarraf, Assistant Minister of Social Solidarity for Social Policies, Ms. Engy El Saban, CEO and Board Member of VictoryLink, Ms. Noha Saad, Head of External Communications and Media Relations at Vodafone Egypt, Ms. Hala Hegazy, Nile Radio Production Managing Director & Group CEO, Ms. Nelly Mahmoud, Chief Communication Officer and Head of Youth Beyond Banking and Financial Inclusions at EGbank, Mr. Maissam Hannawi, Egypt Managing Director – Electrolux.

The ceremony was also attended by Mr. Ayman Essam, External Affairs and Legal Director at Vodafone Egypt. The signing ceremony witnessed a panel discussion headed by the writer and scriptwriter Ahmed Mourad on a number of issues and subjects related to Egyptian women and the inspiring stories of a number of women participating in the book, foremost among them is Mrs. Marcelle Matta, the first Egyptian piano professor who teaches in Cairo Conservatoire Institute, the first Egyptian piano department head in the institute, the first Egyptian Soloist to play in the Old Egyptian Opera House, Dr. Esraa El Bably, the first Egyptian dentist suffering from hearing loss and the first UN official spokeswoman for the hearing impaired, and Esraa Emad, the first deprived of sight photographer who is shooting the first film for the blind, Dr. Sherif Nagy, the husband of the late icon Anisa Hassouna, and Mr. Moustafa Ebeid, the Egyptian writer, journalist, and novelist.

The book was launched with the support of a number of sponsoring companies that pay great attention to empowering women in Egypt, foremost of which are Vodafone Egypt, eFinance, EGbank, Electrolux, el Consoleya in Bab Al Luoq, Iqraaly application, Nile Radio Production, Nogoum FM and Nile FM, El Fasla, Carina, and Jasmine Jewelry.

It is worth saying that during the second season of one new initiative, the “Share Your Story” competition was launched in which 20 exceptional ladies will be selected and honored by the jury. Their stories can be accessed through the digital “Wahda Gedida ” platform.
