Mohave restaurant in Cairo Festival City Mall is named after the indigenous Mohave people of the United States. The group is native to the Colorado area and the new restaurant centers its menu and decor on the lives of the nomadic peoples native to the Americas.

Signatures Dishes & Dishes Sampled

There are many dishes on the menu that honor the indigenous Mohave people. The menu has many unique signature items that are not available elsewhere including Frybread Beef Burger, Tipi Blonde, Mohaves’s Way Tacos, and Native American Pot Stew.

It was a long day before we headed to Mohave so we started with two signature mocktails as we waited for our food to arrive. The Mohave’s Way Fizzy Blue Colada and Red Velvet were delicious and could have easily spoiled our appetites. For starters, we chose a wide selection of finger foods like Spinach Con Queso, Spaghetti Nachos, Fried Pickles and Jalapenos, and Crispy Cheddar Bites. The Spinach Con Queso came in a small cookware pot and was presented on a wooden platter; it was so creamy and flavorful we were fighting for every last chip. The other dishes were perfectly portioned for sharing, great for a date or a night out with friends. Moving on to mains, we settled on the Mohaves’s Way Shrimp Tacos, Skillet Beef Burgers, Hawaiian Chicken Kebab, and Native American Pot Stew. The main courses were diverse in their flavor profiles and styles, which was refreshing because everything we ate was genuinely unique. The Hawaiian Chicken Kebab was sweet and sour with perfectly grilled vegetables and the Native American Pot Stew was so large that it could have fed three people. The Mohaves’s Way Shrimp Tacos were by far our favorites with three types of peppers, onions, and tasty shrimp in a soft taco shell. For dessert, we chose the Philadelphia and the Tipi Blonde. The Philadelphia was a very rich cheesecake and the Tipi Blonde was a white version of a brownie topped with sweet vanilla ice cream, both allowing us to indulge our sweet tooth after a savory meal.

Other Menu Options that Appealed & Beverages Available

The Jambalaya was a serious contender, but we simply ran out of space on both our table and in our stomachs.

Beverage options include lots of great soft drink options including hot and cold drinks. The restaurant’s signature drink, called a Mohave’s Way Fizzy, is a fun and delicious drink that goes down easy.

Décor & Ambience

The decor is colorful and casual with indoor and outdoor seating areas for guests to feel comfortable. The theme of the decor echoes the restaurant’s indigenous American menu and is warm and inviting with tribal patterns throughout. The ambience is calm and relaxed, truly a hidden haven to escape the madness of the mall.
