Step 1. Choose a Color Scheme
Choose a united color for the tablecloth and base dishes for the other elements to stand out and add a pattern of florals, brightly colored glasses or play with bold graphic patterns.
Step 2. Something Old. Something New
When choosing the tableware, mix and match detailed vintage prints and clean and neutral modern items. This might be a bit difficult at first, but it adds a playful, chic element to your table. Pair vintage gold knives and forks with wooden and marble dishes.
Focus on the little details, like tying the cutlery into a bundle with ribbon or string. Bonus: Add a sprig of rosemary or sweet basil to the bundle to give a wonderful flair.
Step 3. Serving plates
Classy wicker trays and small baskets for serving food and drinks really go a long way. Use glass jugs to serve juice, ice tea or water and add slices of lemon, mint, rose petals or any colorful fruit you have for a fresher look.
Step 4. Flowers
Depending on your occasion and color scheme pick the colors that suit it best. As for the arrangement, either a single flower in an elegant vase or an oversized bouquet spilling from a vessel.
If you don’t want to go with a floral arrangement, add candles or small lanterns.
Step. 5 Props
Decorate the table with colorful eye-catching seasonal fruits or vegetables, some driftwood, or seashells from the beach. Succulents in small rustic pots are really cute as well.
