Spicy Food If you’re not already a fan of spicy food, now just might be the time to start. Foods like cayenne pepper, chilies, ginger, and curry powder promote the sinuses to run, this works to unclog those congested nasal passageways. As if you didn’t need another excuse to eat Thai or Indian cuisine!

Apples may help reduce your allergy symptoms due to their high content of the antioxidant, quercetin.  Quercetin has been shown to prevent immune cells from releasing histamine, the main culprit causing your allergy symptoms.  Other foods containing quercetin are citrus fruits, onions, parsley and sage.
Fish  Fish, particularly fatty fish like salmon, mackerel and sardines, are great sources of omega-3 fatty acids. Omega-3’s have anti-inflammatory properties, which can ease the inflammation in your sinuses.  Aim to eat fish at least 2-3 times per week for maximal effect.  Other non-animal sources of omega-3 fatty acids are flaxseeds and walnuts.
