TV Addicts, rejoice! To keep you plugged into what is premiering every month, we put together a monthly list of new TV series set to air! We’ve added a description and a trailer for each show, so all you have to do is choose what sounds good and start streaming! *Shows are listed in alphabetical order.

american dad: season 16

American Dad is returning for its sixteenth season. This season, show creator Seth McFarlane will return as the show’s central character Stan Smith, a CIA agent and loyal husband to his wife Francine (Wendy Schaal).

American Soul

Set in the 1970s, the series takes a look at the life of Don Cornelius (Sinqua Walls) and the people who helped make Soul Train, including the dancers, the crew and musicians such as Gladys Knight (Kelly Rowland), Martha Reeves (K. Michelle), Diana Ross (Michelle Williams), Rufus Thomas (Bobby Brown) and Ike and Tina Turner (McKinley Freeman and Gabrielle Dennis).

Just add magic: season 4

Just Add Magic tells the story of three young friends who find a mysterious cookbook that has recipes of dishes that have magic spells, they then create a secret cooking club.

man with a plan: season 3

When his wife Andi returns to work, old-school father Adam Burns takes on more of the responsibilities of parenting his three rambunctious children (Kate, Emme and Teddy). Adam must learn to balance this challenge with running a contracting business with his brother Don, while at the same time dealing with his overbearing father Joe.

Miracle Workers

It’s your typical workplace comedy, except that the workplace is heaven, and the uninspiring, checked-out boss is God (played by Steve Buscemi, replacing the originally cast Owen Wilson). Daniel Radcliffe stars as a low-level employee/angel charged with handling all of humanity’s prayers. The Lorne Michaels-produced series comes from Man Seeking Woman creator Simon Rich (which he adapts from his own book, What in God’s Name).

One Day at a Time: season 3 

The series follows the life of Penelope, a newly single Army veteran, and her Cuban-American family, as they navigate the ups and downs of life. Now a nurse, Penelope is raising two strong-willed children. When faced with challenges, Penelope turns to her “old-school” mother, and her building manager, who has become an invaluable confidant. The series offers a contemporary take on what life looks like in both good and bad times, and how loved ones can help make it all worthwhile.

Season three of the reimagining of the Norman Lear 1970s sitcom introduces Lydia’s sister Mirtha (Gloria Estefan), Penelope’s brother Tito (Danny Pino), Penelope’s cousins Pilar and Estrellita (Stephanie Beatriz and Melissa Fumero).

Requiem

Matilda Gray, an ambitious musician and talented cellist, has her life suddenly turned upside down when her mother commits suicide. While going through her deceased mom’s possessions, Gray finds an old box filled with newspaper cuttings about the disappearance of a young girl from a small Welsh village more than 20 years ago. With her trusted friend Hal by her side, Gray travels to Wales to see if the case of the missing girl and her own mother’s death are in any way related. What Gray finds out, however, leads her to question her own identity.

The Umbrella Academy

Ellen Page is set to return to TV in her first starring role in 15 years for Netflix’s new fantasy series The Umbrella Academy. The show is set in an alternate reality where JFK was never assassinated, and centres around 7 orphans (43 who were mysteriously born on the same day to mothers who had shown no signs of pregnancy in the days prior) with different superpowers who reunite after years apart to solve the mystery of their foster father’s death.

The Walking Dead: Season 9 (Part 2)

Now that Rick is out and The Whisperers are in, the story’s certainly set for a showdown amongst Hilltop, The Kingdom, and Alexandria, and you can definitely expect more fatalities to come.

Based on the podcast, 2 Dope Queens by Jessica Williams and Phoebe Robinson, the series encompasses various topics about sex, romance, race, hair, living in New York, and Billy Joel.
