When temperatures rise, it’s time to head to the beach. No wonder then, that stylish swimwear is an essential fashion statement in most people’s wardrobes. Let’s look back to the early days when taking a dip involved dressing a little differently.
From Victorian bathing machines that could be wheeled into the sea (to protect ladies’ modesty of course), and the voluminous outfits of the late 1800s, to the invention of the bikini, and on to today’s beach fashions. Over the course of years, some styles have undergone a resurgence, while some have thankfully faded from the scene.
