The name Mistiqa translates to herbs and spices in Arabic, as captured in traditional cuisine across Egypt and the Levant. Mistiqa offers Egyptian and Oriental food, authentically seasoned with Mistiqa’s own blend of herbs and spices. One of the perks is having their own bread, freshly made and straight from the oven sitting just outside the restaurant.

It serves a variety of foods, ranging from appetizers and soups to main courses with side dishes and desserts. As a restaurant, it has incorporated the main and side dishes around two elements, chicken and ground beef.

Signature Dishes & Dishes Sampled

Their signature dish has to be the Chicken liver dipped in Baba Ghanoush. The dishes we sampled were plentiful, ranging from appetizers all the way to desserts and everything in between. For cold appetizers, we were served tahini, Baba Ghanoush, Potato Salad, Tomato Salad, Lebanese Grape Leaves, and a Lebanese Garlic Dip. All of which came with just the right amount of seasoning.

On to the hot appetizers, Samboussak with a cheese filling and Chicken Liver served with French fries, which had a distinct and delicious taste with the spices thrown in. Next up were the main courses paired with a side dish. We started with the boneless chicken which was magnificently seasoned and grilled to perfection.

Hawawshy, the other main dish of ground beef with oiled local or balady bread also went down in a flash. The side dish of a creamy Béchamel Pasta with ground beef and a gooey cheesy layer complimented the main courses well. Finishing it all off with dessert, a simple Egyptian Mahalabeya, a tasty mix of milk, starch, and sugar to balance our taste buds with a sweet ending to the meal.

Other Menu Options that Appealed & Beverages Available

We definitely want to try the takeaway meal of Shish Tawouk served with kofta and Lebanese grape leaves, French fries, and balady bread. Beverages include Both hot and cold; soft drinks with soda, mint lemonade, tea and Nescafe.

Décor & Ambiance

The décor of the restaurant indoors and outdoors was very simple, a mix of white with wood accents, a good fit for the sporting club look. There was a family-friendly vibe, as anyone inside the club can casually go in and dine alone or with their partners.

Social Distancing and Hygiene Standards

The restaurant has incorporated a healthy way of maintaining social distancing and has a contactless menu with QR codes on tables.

Clientele Mix: During our visit we saw plenty of families, this is a perfect spot for any age group of friends or couples.

Price range: Prices were extremely reasonable considering portions sizes.

Worth noting: Take away and delivery are both available.
