Kaya Restobar is the outcome of a group of family and friends with a passion for dining and fun times together. Located in Sheraton, Heliopolis, the French-inspired and international themed restaurant’s menu also offers a few Brazilian dishes and a full bar. We had a taste of some of their items to let you in on what we found impressive and how our dining experience went.
Dishes Sampled
With a longish menu, we were spoiled for choice. We started with three best-sellers, Cache-Cache, Toast de Champignon Provençale and Fillet de Bouef Acebolado. The Cache- Cache (meaning hide or cover in French) is a dish consisting of small chunks of chicken breast served between layers of creamy mashed potatoes covered with crust of grated cheese, topped with cherry tomato halves. The tasty Mushroom Provençale was stuffed with herbs and tomatoes, topped with breadcrumbs and grated cheese on a toast base. The only downside was the small size of the portion (only 5 pieces).
It was surprising to see a Brazilian classic appetizer on the menu, Bife Acebolado is served in most bars around Brazil, but this version came with an extra French touch. Thick strips of beef fillet prepared with onions and garlic with a thick, gravy-like sauce, served with toasted bread. The toasted bread slices helped mop up the thick sauce.
We enjoyed sipping our cocktail and sangria while waiting for our mains: Entrecote Buerre Café du Paris and Steak de Saumon Frais Flambe au Poivre Noir. All main dishes are accompanied by two sides. For the Café du Paris, we opted for fries and spinach gratin, whereas for the salmon we chose smashed potatoes and also the spinach. The Café du Paris was slightly well done for our taste, the same with the Salmon, which we prefer rather pinkish. The Salmon Steak Black Peppercorn sauce was quite rich and blended very well with the fish. We finalized our evening with nice live music and a trio of small bowls of Crème Brûlée.

Décor and Ambience
The restaurant interior is chic and sleek. The seating arrangements have been thoughtfully considered. There are three main areas indoors: the lounge, the bar and the “Street” which is the most casual area, resembling a real street, from the posters on the walls, to the tiles on the floor. There is also a terrace where clients can enjoy a shisha. The lounge area consists of a long blue velvet couch and separate tables. The lighting and sound systems can be dimmed, giving this area a more intimate and cozy atmosphere. The bar area has very nice high tables on the side and many chairs along its counter right in front of the DJ island. The Street area is funky and bold, and can be easily transformed into a dance floor, with access to the terrace through a folding glass door.
Clientele Mix: Friends, couples, families
Price Range: Reasonably priced
Worth Noting: Besides the DJ and live entertainment every week, there is a VIP exclusive entrance door through the parking garage and valet service.
